Publication share

Hi everyone,

Just stopping by to share a card that was accepted for the May/June issue of Paper Crafts magazine. I had SIX cards picked up for this issue (a record for me). Three of the cards are in the print issue and three are exclusive to the digital version. If you subscribe to the magazine you automatically have access to the digital version so be sure to check it out!

So I thought I'd share one of the cards featured in the digital version. :)
Here it is:

Stamps: Delicate Leaf Clusters; All Occasions Messages (Hero Arts)

I stamped the leaf image on canvas with VersaMark and embossed with various embossing powders.

My First Cover!

Hi everyone!

Popping in again. I'm excited to share a card I have in Paper Crafts special issue Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters. To be honest, when the call for this issue came out I wasn't really feeling it. I did manage to make 3 cards and was surprised when 2 got picked up. I was even more surprised and excited when I got an email informing me that one of my cards was going to be on the cover! I'm must admit...I was so wrong about this issue! It is AMAZING! So many clever ideas for both cards and storage solutions! LOVE the section on using household items on cards. So much brilliance!

The card I'm sharing today is part of the Do It Yourself  Embellishments section of the issue. Here it is (in front of the actual issue):

I used Echo Parks Victoria Gardens line, a Basic Grey brad, Jane Beljo's handmade button, and lots of Hero Arts embellishments and sentiment (from the Classic Messages set).

Okay...off to bed. It's been a LONG day. ;)

Big Hugs

Hi everyone,

Just popping in to share a card I made where I used markers directly on a floral stamp and spritzed with water before stamping in order to give it a watercolor look....

Hero Arts: Blooming Meadows, XO

There you go. I'm off to bed. Goodnight all! :)

Faux Velveteen stamping

Hi everyone,

It's been way too long since I've participated in one of the Hero Arts challenges and Shari's Velveteen technique article was just the thing to get me moving again. I decided to put a digital  twist on this technique. I made a mask created with a Hero Arts/Silhouette shape, put the mask over some white cardstock, and inked directly with a Frost White ink pad. I removed the mask and let the ink dry before stamping the hello/bird and friend images over top.

Here's the card:

Here's the mask followed by a close up of the card:

Sending Hugs

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all having a great weekend! We just finished up our March Break and had lots of fun throughout the week. :)

I'm popping in to share another card:

Hero Arts: XO, Butterflies and Wildflowers, Old Letter Writing

For this card  I die cut the tag using acetate, scribbled Sharpie markers on one side and dabbed it with Alcohol Blending Solution before stamping the other side with the floral image using white Stazon.

Thanks for stopping by! I really do appreciate it!

Here it is:

I used Hero Arts Butterflies and wildflowers set as well as a sentiment from Speedy Recovery. Nice and easy. :)

Paper Craft rejects

Hi everyone,

Just popping in to share a couple of cards I submitted to the Paper Craft Stamp It! Cards vol 9 call that didn't get any loving. Hoping they'll get a little here. ;) I submitted 15 cards, only 6 were new. 9 were resubmits and the 1 that they picked is one I've submitted 2 times before. 3rd times a charm, right? ;)

Anyways, I'm going to hold on to a few of them yet but thought I'd share a couple today.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Paper Crafts Stamp It! 3 Ways Designer Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to Paper Crafts Stamp It! 3 Ways Designer Blog Hop!

Each of today's blog hop designers was asked to make a card using one the sets they used in the Stamp It! 3 Ways issue. I decided to use this fun set from Hero Arts called Many Dots:

There are just SO many fun ways to use this set. Here's the card I made for today's hop:

I used the small solid circle stamp to create the background. On the front panel I white heat embossed various images from the set and went over it with distress inks using an ink blending tool.

Since this issue of Stamp It! is all about using a stamp set in 3 different ways I thought I'd share 2 other cards I've made using this set. This next one is the one that was published in Stamp It! 3 Ways. Here I used various images from the set to make the background paper and used the flower image for a main element.

For my final card (which I believe I've shared before) I used the polka dot circle and stamped it multiple times in different colours on die cut circles and adhered them to the card to make rows of scallops.

Here's the full list of blog hop participants:

 Jaclyn Miller
·         Julie Masse
·         Laura Williams
